The Inclusion Game

Picture
Example of Sign
Ideal for large groups (20+) of students.

Each student is given a sign which is taped to their back so they are unable to see it.
These signs are different for each student and read things such as;

-Do not accept me into your group in rounds 2 and 7
-Do not accept me unless I am shorter than every other group member
-Do not accept me in odd numbered rounds
-Always accept me into your group
-Only accept me if there is someone born in May in the group

There are 12 rounds in each game, at the beginning of each round music plays and the students walk/dance around the space and when the music stops, they get onto groups of a designated amount of members chosen by the teacher.

These groups, however can only be formed based on the signs on the student's backs.
This will find students being excluded from groups depending on their sign and the round number.

At the end of the 12 rounds, students discuss how they felt when they were excluded, especiall as the reason for exclusion was beyond their control.
This links well with an anti-bullying focus.
